Frank Beltrame Knives

07 Aug

A girl’s gotta own a tactical knife cos lets face it your husband, brothers, cousins or Dad can’t be with you 24/7 and a knife is a good way to stop guys hassling you and if a guy was to try and rape you, stabbing him in the happy sack is going to change his mind… and his sex

I got 3 Frank Beltrame knives. I’ve got a 20 cm B-KBiT, which is cool but you gotta learn how to use it, I’m okay with it and it only costs 59 euros.

I also got the 23cm teflon tactical switch with bayonet blade, which is so cool, and really easy to use. That only costs 59 euros too.

They’re both automatics, so illegal to carry  but I don’t see why, what wrong with automatic, can open them with one hand without cutting yourself… that’s a good thing.

Anyways my favourite tactical knife: the B-Naked. I think he made it for Italian girls cos it’s sort of like an old chastity knife but it’s supersexy.

B-Naked

B-Naked

You can get it razor sharp, I get Rob to do that for me. I can’t sharpen knives. It comes in 3 funky colours: Flash Blue, Flash Brown, and Tactical Teflon. It also comes in Boring Gray but who wants that?

It’s a wicked little knife it’s only 14 cm. It’s got a 6.3 cm blade, made out of W.1.4034 Stainless Steel HRC 56… it stays sharp so it must be pretty good.

It’s also got an eagle eye open hole, which is much easer to open than a thumb stud. I don’t like thumb studs.  You can get the handle with a wood or G-10 insert, and it only costs 33 euro.  How freaking cheap is that?

Only to threaten a guy who was perving on me, when I was waiting for Rob to come and pick me up.

The B-KBiT is banana shaped, no? Looks like it would be complicated to use.

I really like the 23cm Beltrane. Very nice knife. And too bad The State of Texas says I can’t have one.

I shouldn’t gripe too much, as our gun laws are quite good, and we can own anykind of gun except full auto and short barreled firearms, and you can even own those for big fees and a special license.

It’s silly to prohibit auto knives. In some places in the States, it’s a felony, so you just might as well be carrying a sawed off shotgun or machine guns as the penalties are the same.

BTW, do any of you knife guru’s know where I can get a HIGH QUALITY
non-automatic stiletto? I’d love to have a Beltrane that was spring assisted with a thumb lever instead of a thumb stud.

Don’t know where you could get a high quality spring assisted stiletto. I know Frank Beltrame don’t make them but he does make them.

Our guns laws are well restrictive, I got a Benelli SupaNova Comfortech Camo for hunting, Beretta 682 Gold E Trap for clays, and a Glock G17 and Beretta Px4 storm subcompact for home defence. My licence don’t let me carry. Are knife laws suck too, we ain’t allowed to carry a knife unless you gotta a reason, but if you drive you got a reason… rescue knife.

Snap. We got the same knife. I want my sister to get one but she don’t like knives. Luce only likes shotguns and fencing.

Yeah, it’s banana shaped. It’s based on an Indonesian claw knife. It’s not as easy to use as the other knives but it’s kinda cool that’s why I got it. At first I found it difficult to use but Rob taught me how to use it. Our Grandad taught him to use a folding roncola, which is sort of like a large pruning knife. It sorta works the same cos that’s banana shaped too. It’s easier to use it in reverse grip.

@ Amica. Knives aren’t supersexy or because they come in pretty colors and have sexual names like be naked. Hate your new avatar btw.

@ Amica. It’s not okay to threaten people with knives or to castrate potential rapists.

Jen — have a word with yourself, that when a girl’s meant to use knife.

    Amica –

the karambit looks cool but it’s not very instinctive, I wouldn’t recommend it for self-defence.

El fish — I’m not aware of any high quality spring assisted Italian stiletto. The Gerber Applegate-Fairbairn is a high quality spring assisted dagger. You can also get some non-automatic spring guards, like the Puma Medici, but that’s tiny.

If switchblades are illegal to carry in Italy why don’t they stop this bozo from making them?

They ain’t illegal to own. They’re good knives and he’s probably the best person at making them in the world. They’re works of art.

Hey, where did you buy the Frank Beltrame knives from? I live in Europe and I really want to buy one from an online shop, but I haven’t found a good shop. Any ideas?

    @ DS

The best place to get Frank Beltrame knives is from their website. BTW you didn’t say where you live in Europe but automatic knives are illegal in some EU countries, that won’t stop them from shipping it to you because the responsibility is yours but Frank Beltrame is a name I would expect customs to have heard of. I’d tell them to list it as an antique on the description on the shipping form.

Thanks for the answer. I have visited his official website before, but it seems to be inactive? The shop has been “Under construction” for at least a year

    http://www.frankbeltrame.com/shop/

and it says © Copyright 2005 at the bottom of the page

Also, I have checked all the local laws. As long as one side of the blade is dull and blade itself is shorter than 8.5 cm, it’s legal.

The website is active but the shop isn’t. Click here to order a knife. He makes lot of knives that fit your description and the customer service is very good.

Frank’s brother Armando Beltrame and his godson Renzo Beltrame (not sure what relation he is) also make switchblades in Maniago. Frank and Armando Beltrame’s grandad was Vittorio Beltrame who made knives in the 1950s (Beltrame Vittorio & Figli). Armando’s companies are AB and SKM (Switchblade Knife Makers of Maniago). Another famous Italian switchblade maker is Angelo Campolin sr, (AGA Campolin) and his grandson Angelo Campolin jr (AKC) makes knives with him too. You sometimes here people on the net saying Campolin is great and Beltrame is cheap crap or the other way round, but these people know fuck all about knife manufacturing in Maniago. There is absolutely no difference in quality. They’re all handmade in Maniago from the same parts and materials.

    Renzo Beltrame
