Executing Corrupt Officials

China has executed their former State Food and Drug Administration director Zheng Xiaoyu on charges of bribery. During his tenure from 1998 to 2005, he approved six medicines untested medicines for cash. The untested drugs caused the deaths of over ten people.

Over half million people have been killed in Iraq since the invasion and I very much doubt that Tony Blair or anyone in his inner circle will ever stand trial for their war crimes.

I also doubt: that Tony Blair or Lord Levy will face trial for selling seats in the legislature, that Lord Goldsmith will face charges over his role in the Al-Yamamah arms deal, or that Tessa Jowell will ever face charges for taking a bung off Berlusconi.

When you count the blood cost, executing one corrupt official doesn’t seem such a bad idea. It’s got to be better than giving them peerages and letting them wander off to foreign countries to peddle their lies
